Argentina Celebrates as Construction of GM Seed Plant is Blocked

Local Malvinas citizens and GMO Free campaigners from across Argentina celebrated Wednesday after the Chamber of Labour ordered the construction of Monsanto’s giant GM seed plant in the town to be stopped.

The Chamber of Labor also urged the local municipality to refrain from issuing any type of construction authorization until the EIS is completed later in 2014. The ruling came after locals and evvironmentalists filed an appeal in 2013 to stop the construction of the Monsanto plant in the Córdoba province of Argentina.
